Practice Policies and Information

Please note: Rates may vary with insurance.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

INSURANCE INFORMATION

We offer reasonable, service-based pricing for those individuals without insurance or those who prefer to pay out-of-pocket.

At this time, we are currently accepting Anthem insurance (HMO/PPO).  We do not file to secondary or tertiary insurance companies, but will be able to provide a “superbill” so you can file the insurance company for any out of pocket costs not covered by your primary policy.

For individuals with Medicaid or Medicare insurance (even as a supplemental or secondary policy), services you receive will not be reimbursed by your insurance.

Reasons to consider Private Payer “out of pocket”

Many clients choose not to use insurance to defer the cost of counseling because they do not want their counseling to be limited by diagnosis, treatment plans, types of therapy or session limits that are dictated by insurance companies.  Clients are also concerned about privacy.  In order to obtain reimbursement, the insurance company has to know personal information about you and can review your records at their discretion.  Your diagnosis is something that is seen by multiple people at the insurance company and can be shared with other insurance companies - life/disability/future health insurance companies and the government.  Some employers can even request you to release the information to them, which can have an impact on the status of your employment or, in some cases, impact your ability to advance.

We hope that those of you who utilize self-pay for service and treatment with Mana Psychiatry will agree that this is a far superior option.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Patients can cancel or reschedule an appointment anytime as long as they provide a 24-hour notice. If you cancel an appointment with less than 24-hours notice, you will be charged $50.00. If you fail to show up for your appointment, you will be charged the full fee. Charges will be reflected on your credit card.
