Anne Marie Seda, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Anne Marie Seda was one of the first autonomous Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (Family) in the state of Virginia. She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and has more than 28 years of experience as a registered nurse and 17 years of experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Anne Marie opened Mana Psychiatry and Wellness, LLC to help clients navigate their mental health through the use of therapy, prescription medication and alternative modalities. Having been raised in Hawaii, she learned the importance of spending time outside in nature, with family and friends, in the water or the mountains, or just relaxing.  She brings this spirit of healing into her practice.

Before becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Anne Marie worked for many years as a certified emergency room nurse (CEN).  It was in the Emergency Department where she witnessed the connection between our physical health and mental health. During this time she also volunteered and later worked in a child abuse prevention program, which intervened and provided care during and after pregnancy with woman and families identified as high risk.

Anne Marie has a graduate degree from the State University of New York at Stonybrook, where she focused on psychopharmacology, therapeutic modalities, and the identification and treatment of attachment disorders in women and their children. She also attended psychopharmacology classes at Eastern Virginia Medical School, with third and fourth-year psychiatry residents through the City of Virginia Beach.

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Anne Marie has worked for the Virginia Beach Community Service Board with the severely mentally ill and with patients with substance abuse.  She also spent many years working with the US Navy, focusing on trauma-related disorders, and currently works providing care to veterans of the military and their families.  She has worked in private practice at several locations.
